Custom software development, built around how you actually work

When ready-made tools force your team into workarounds, we build the system that fits your process instead. You keep the code, the data and the decisions.

Before you spend anything

Not every problem needs custom software.

Custom software development is the expensive answer, and the right one less often than agencies admit. We will tell you which column you are in.

usually cheaper

Buy off the shelf when

  • Your process is standard and a product already matches it.
  • You need it live in weeks, and a subscription gets you there.
  • That process is not where you win against competitors.

We will name the product. There is no build to sell you here.

when it pays back

Build bespoke when

  • The way you work is the advantage, and software should protect it.
  • Your team patches around a tool with spreadsheets and re-typing.
  • Several systems must agree, and today a person is the integration.
  • Your rules, approvals or audit trail are specific to you.

Then it is worth owning. You keep the code, the data and the decisions.

What we build

Six things we are usually asked to build.

Custom software development starts with learning how your process really works. We build the smallest version that genuinely helps, then stay on to run it and improve it.

Discovery and solution design

We map the real workflow and agree what to build first. You leave with a scope, a costed estimate and a written list of risks.

Custom business platforms

Admissions, case management and operations systems, with role-based access, approval chains and an audit trail on every decision.

Internal tools and automation

We replace the spreadsheets, email chains and re-typing that hold a process together today.

Integrations

Payments, messaging, logins, accounting and partner APIs, built to retry when the other side is down.

Updating existing systems

We review the code and hosting, then say honestly what to keep, fix or rebuild. Replaced a piece at a time, never overnight.

Support after launch

Hosting, monitoring, backups and patching, plus steady improvements. Or a documented handover to your team.

The short list, not the menu.

Most builds mix several of these, plus the parts nobody puts on a slide: permissions, migrations, reporting and backups. Tell us the process that is costing you time.

Architecture

What is actually under the screens.

Demos compare screens. The four layers underneath decide whether the system still works in year three.

  1. 01

    Surfaces

One system, different doors: a customer sees a form, an officer sees a queue, a manager sees a report.

  2. 02

    Access and rules

Your policy written as code and enforced in one place, instead of repeated in every screen.

    Data and audit

Who changed what, when, and what it was before. The part you cannot add later.

    Operations

Boring on purpose: the goal is that nobody has to think about this layer, including you.

What we build with

Boring technology, chosen on purpose.

Custom software has to be maintainable by someone who is not us, in five years. So we build on what any competent team already knows, and keep the clever parts for your business rules.

React TypeScript React Native Flutter
Node.js Python / FastAPI PHP / Laravel Java / Spring Boot REST APIs
MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB Redis
AWS DigitalOcean Docker Jenkins GitHub Actions
Stripe WhatsApp Business API Firebase SSO and OAuth

This is what we reach for by default, not the limit. We also work in the stack you already run, and in the one your own team will have to maintain.

Engagement

Four ways to work with us.

Most projects start with the first and continue into the second or third. You are never asked to commit to a full build before anyone has seen your process.

01 start here

Discovery and scoping

best whenYou know the problem, not yet the shape of the answer.
  • Workflow and data map
  • Scoped first version
  • Costed estimate and risk log
02 most common

Fixed-scope build

best whenThe scope is clear and the budget needs to be certain.
  • Fixed price and date
  • Scope and changes in writing
  • Launch and handover
03 long-running

Dedicated team

best whenThe destination will move, and you want to steer each month.
  • Named engineers
  • Your backlog, your priorities
  • Monthly cost you can plan
04 after launch

Run and improve

best whenIt is running and must keep running, with room to grow.
  • Hosting and backups
  • Monitoring and patching
  • Agreed response times
What actually moves the price.

The workflows it has to support, the screens that adds up to, the systems it connects to, the roles and approval paths, and the old data that has to move. Audit rules raise all of it. Discovery prices each one instead of guessing, which is why it usually saves more than it costs.

Ownership and handover

You own it. Here is what that means in practice.

Ownership, documentation and handover terms are agreed in writing before work starts.

Source code and IP

Assigned to you in the contract, not licensed back to you.

Your data, exportable

A documented schema and a working export, in a format anyone can read.

Infrastructure in your name

Cloud accounts and domains yours from day one, with us as operator.

Documentation that is used

Architecture notes and a runbook a new developer can follow without us.

No lock-in by design

Standard frameworks and databases. Another team can pick this up.

A real handover

Walkthroughs with your developers, and support while they take over.

FAQ

Common questions.

When is custom software better than buying a product?

When a tool makes your team work around it, or when several systems need to share data and someone copies it by hand. If a ready-made product fits, we will say so.

How does a project start?

With a call, then a short planning step. We learn how the job is done today, agree what to build first, and give you a clear scope and price. Both are yours to keep.

How soon can we use it?

Usually weeks, not months. We start with the smallest piece that helps one team do one job, then give you working software every few weeks to log into and try.

Who owns the code, and what if we stop working with you?

You own it, and the contract says so. We hand over the code, your data and notes a new developer can follow, plus sessions with your team. We use common tools, so anyone can pick it up.

Can you work with the systems we already have?

Yes, and we usually do. We connect to what you have and move your old data across. If an old system has to go, we replace it a piece at a time. Nothing switches off overnight.

Can you meet our security and compliance needs?

Usually, and it is far cheaper built in than added later. Logins limited to what each person needs, a record of every change, encrypted data and tested backups are standard. We have delivered for an Abu Dhabi government institute and run a full HIPAA programme.

Let’s talk about your project.

Tell us about your custom software development project. We will reply with what we would build first and what it would involve.
